Motto:
Building Bridges to Opportunity
Vision:
A West Africa that is literate, skillful, healthy, peaceful, and prosperous.

Who We Are

The Development Initiative of West Africa (DIWA) addresses critical long-term issues affecting vulnerable communities in the areas of access to education, health and nutrition, water, capacity-building, good governance, emergency relief, other social services, and peaceful co-existence in a multi-religious and multi-cultural environment. DIWA takes pride in its grassroots consultative approach to problem-solving, vast indigenous partner network, and careful monitoring of projects. Our donors are especially concerned with making a contribution to the lives of the most vulnerable communities in the world, and gain satisfaction in making meaningful and lasting impacts with meager amounts.

Mission Statement

To increase the quality of life of vulnerable communities by providing opportunities for improved long-term health, education, capacity-building, social justice and peace.

Our Vision

A West Africa that is literate, skillful, healthy, peaceful, and prosperous.

Values

We openly share information and promote creativity, learning and safety in an environment of integrity, quality and mutual accountability.

We believe people to be the foundation of the Development Initiative of West Africa and commit ourselves to encouraging each other by listening and treating one another with respect, fairness and honesty.

We are motivated by compassion to work for the reduction of world-wide inequity in the distribution of resources, and the enhancement of opportunities to disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.

Testimonials

What people are saying about us

The entire community appreciates the supply and installation of water tanks to boost water supply to residence around the community. We are grateful to you for alleviating our years of suffering. We now enjoy prompt water supply.

Alhaji Tanko YakubuSayako Community, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria

Thank you for your tireless and humanitarian services rendered to us especially the children’s education and healthcare programmes. This effort which has lasted more than 10 years is a huge relief for struggling and vulnerable parents who are unable to pay for their children’s tuition and other related fees.

Muhammed SackorChairman, Liberian Refugee Welfare Council, Nigeria

Thank you for the efforts made to remember people living with HIV/AIDS. This fine gesture of yours is a true demonstration of your faith in Muslim injunctions and also service to humanity.
